Shangri La! 9 went like this:
Herb Diamante
flew in from Ulverston via Shetland especially. Herb's act is an unusual mix
of retro British 'Casino Royale' style lounge oddities with warped electronic
backing tracks. In his stunning outfit Herb oozes suave with a classic crooning
voice reminiscent of Bryan Ferry. Imagine Marc Almond on acid.
The audience was stunned.

The Birds of Prestwich
gave us a superb collection of tunes about such things as Botox,
delivered in a Fall-esque fashion. A ramshackle yet compelling sound featuring
the unmistakable drumming style of Peter Wankowicz AKA Chilliman.
The BOPs now have a website: www.birdsofprestwich.com
Well, this is actually Matt playing drums; they swapped instruments
quite a lot.
Gareth
and Peter
Stuart Hudson & David Clayton gave us a series of sketches with scenarios ranging from Victorian academia to high octane sports punditary; an excellent and versatile display of comedy acting and very funny. For some reason we forgot to take any photos of this, please send us shots if you have any!
