Shangri La! 14:
Eleanor Lou
We've
not had enough female performers at Sha La! so Eleanor Lou was like a breath
of fresh air. Heartfelt, ballsy tunes
from the standpoint of the fairer sex. Incredible voice, like Patti Smith and
Kim Deal thru an overdrive pedal. To check

Edward Barton
with 'Penzance Pencils'
Mr. Barton returned with his new project, which he wanted
to call Pens and Pencils. The others in the group didn't like that
name, despite having no ideas of their own on what it should be called. Best
line of the night? "Her twat was as wet as your run
over pet." Barton choreographed the group from off-stage like a Phil-esque
spectre; the (ooh another) female lyricist (sorry, I
didn't get anyone's name!) delivered Barton's often abrupt verse in a gentle,
accessible singing style.
